By Gustavo Saturno
Great sound, easy to manage, great video image, the ipod conection is perfect because you keep the control on itself, the usb port works ok, the built in wireless connectivity is just perfect.. In general terms the home theater is realy good, but in spec said that it has an hdmi input and this is not true. I also visit the web page of LG and check technical specifications, in av inputs/outputs is written "HDMI in, 1 Rear". I feel disappointed because this was one of the reasons why i decided to buy this product.

By Cory5129
I wanted a boxed system for my living room and purchased this one after returning a Sony DZ175. The Sony went back because it did not play video files from the USB as claimed. I also thought the sound was very poor from the Sony. I looked at other Sony products, but was unable to buy due to having my house pre-wired for surround sound and the Sony units I looked at had permanently attached wires at the speakers. I looked at Samsung, but said no due to many complaints about substandard DVD/Blu-ray players. I was unsure of this unit because of mixed reviews, but I already had a lower end LG Blu-ray player that has been great and plays USB movies, etc. I gave it a try and am very happy. The shipping from Amazon was unbelievably fast!
I gave this home theater system 5 stars because it performs exactly as I wanted. It also turns out the sound is very good and in fact is much better than the Sony I returned. I believe it's not accurate to compare this boxed system to Bose or other high end component systems and then give it low stars. I'm very happy with the sound quality. It plays surround sound as it should (key point: provided what you're watching is formatted for surround sound). Don't expect to watch TV or movies in surround sound if the source isn't formatted for it. That's like buying a High Definition TV and then not connecting it to a High Definition source. I had no problem setting up the system and it uses non-proprietary standard connections for the speaker wires at both the unit and the speakers, so there was no issue installing in my pre-wired home. This system has many features, including the USB port for watching downloaded movies and an in jack for you Apple products. However, I don't even need to do that anymore since this unit is Wi-Fi capable and lets me stream movies from my PC right to my TV. I'm not going to list all the features here, but there are more than I will ever use. The LG interface is very user friendly and again is much better in my opinion than the Sony I returned.
Don't be confused...this unit DOES have an HDMI "OUT" port on the back. It DOES NOT have an HDMI "IN" port, and I don't believe most boxed systems do. I have no need for an "In" port. I have the HDMI cable running from the LG to my TV for Hi-Def. and then a digital optical cable running from my satellite receiver to the "In" optical in port on the LG home theater system. I can watch all TV shows, streamed movies and of course DVD/Blu-ray with sound from my LG speakers. I like the one button push on the remote to toggle through a selection of sound options for tweaking the sound for various shows, movies, or music. I've noticed that if what you're watching or listening to is not in surround sound, you still get sound out of the rear speakers, which I like. The rear speakers were dead on my old outdated Kenwood system unless you were actually watching something with surround sound. If you are looking for a system in the $200-$300 dollar range that performs very well in a standard size family room, sounds great and has many features, then I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you're looking to drop $2 Grand on a high end component system, then it's doubtful you're reading reviews on box systems anyway.

By cody
Works great if you only want to use the surround sound for the blu ray player, different story if you want to have it multi-purpose. I would rather just get a plain blu ray and if I wanted surround sound buy a separate unit that I can use my 360, regular tv, and blu ray player for surround sound. only has 1 hdmi output and 1 standard video output (red, white, yellow). 6 speakers, 6 cords. 4 of them are 3m (9 feet)which are for the front and center speakers and the subwoofer, and the other 2 are 10m (30 feet) which are for the back speakers, so you may want to take some measurements or buy some new speaker wire before you purchase this unit.
